π€·πΎββοΈ TL;DR: The food is just ok. Seems like it might be a decent eat at the restaurant, but the flavors leave much to be desired.
πͺ· Backstory: Vietnamese food is one of my favorite cuisines on Earth. I've eaten a lot of dishes over the years, in Philly, where my high school friends first introduced me to pho, to New York City, Reading, PA, and now Maryland. I've been blessed to dine in the homes of people who immigrated from Saigon to the US in the 80s, and I will cherish those memories forever. Those flavors are imprinted in my mind. That said, I am serious about Vietnamese food and am very familiar with a lot of dishes that rarely see a restaurant menu. Pho and Bun Bo Hue are among my favorites.
ππΎ Delivery: Tonight my usual pho place wasn't available for delivery, so I gave An Loi a try. I ordered the An Loi Pho with all the fixings (tripe included), and a side of the Spring rolls on DoorDash. An Loi confirmed my order immediately, and my order arrived without incident. Everything was well packaged and lovingly labeled for each diner (my partner and I). Sadly, I didn't really care for any of my dishes.
ππΎ Pho: The noodles were packaged at the bottom of one of those paper Chinese food containers with the meats piled on top, and were overcooked well before I added them to my broth. The broth was more salty than it was beefy, and did not taste like traditional broth, which takes hours of boiling beef bones with distinct aromatics. The bean sprouts and basil provided were crisp and fresh. I added my own Sriracha since the tiny sauce container was mostly hoisin sauce.
ππΎ Spring Rolls: As for the spring rolls, they were pretty good. They weren't super crispy, but that's a tall order for delivery. The fish sauce dip tasted pretty good, and like what I would expect.
ππΎ The meal wasn't inedible, but it didn't scratch that itch for me. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to get my meal to me.
We travel to Maryland and looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant. We decided to try this restaurant since my cousin said this is her favorite Vietnamese cuisine! I wanted to say Wow, this is so good!! Not just the food tastes good, but the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant are unbeatable. Also, we feel extremely welcoming the entire time!
PS: We ordered regular Pho noodles. The beef tastes so fresh and the soup is really good.
Also ordered Quails lol. I LOVE it so much. The skin and bone are crispy, but the meet is kinda juicy.
Lastly, Thai tea is a must get!!
The pho broth was very salty.
The tomato rice was good but the chicken was dry and bland.
The curry chicken noodles was only spicy. The were barely any other flavor.
We have a wonderful family dinner tonight, just miss this taste. I love the Pho here is so delicious, the soup pay an important role. My kids love the Dinner comb Grilled pork with tomato rice. OMG ! A lot of meat! The staffs are very nice! I just went there for a pick up, they gave me beautiful smiles. Overall, good food and good service, recommend!
Alright to start things off, the food isnβt bad. Looking at other reviews, they say the pho is not real pho but its still good. I like the food here and always have a great time. But coming here yesterday, I noticed they added 8 motion censored cameras. The lights on the cameras were really bothering and constantly turning on when the server passed by. When going to the restrooms, you can feel that they cranked the thermostat as it was like a desert passing their counter, it felt like it was somewhat around 80 Fahrenheit. Also the restroom floors were covered in something slippery and so I almost slipped which was not a fun experience. Overall 3.5.
I ordered a delivery from here.
P4 Tai Chin Pho: The broth was light in color and flavor though not bad. Decent amount of meat for my small order. Basil was a little wilted when it got to me but still good. The sauce they supplied seemed like a mix of hoisin and something spicy. Not over baring and helped the soup.
Summer rolls: They weren't too bad though the meat was a little dry. Would have liked more peanut flavoring in the sauce.
Pickled cabbage: It was more sweet than anything else. Lack of vinigar or any real seasoning.
The lemonade wasn't bad. I personally would have liked it a little sweeter, but that is a taste preference.
The best Pho restaurant in Columbia, MD. W/ difference bowl sizes.
I regularly get the dinner special for takeout and it always hits the spot. It's a good amount of food and the quality is nice for what you pay for. It is also ready incredibly fast. I couldn't recommend this place more.
